Former employees of Tesla will build a plant for lithium-ion batteries in Europe

Two former employees of the company Tesla decided not to sit idle and founded her own startup, North Volt, in which are going to open a plant in Europe for the production of lithium-ion batteries.

The Ex-managers of Tesla Peter Karlsson and Paolo Cerruti reported that already found that European investors willing to invest in the construction, so now the founders of the North Volt are searching for a suitable place. Presumably the plant will be built either in Finland or in Sweden. Now North, the Volt is still a lot of problems. The leaders of startups continue to seek funding and execute the necessary activities to start the paperwork. The construction of the factory going to start only in 2019.

If all goes as plan enthusiasts, by 2023 they will be able to start the production in full force. Direct competition with Tesla here is not visible, because the company Ilona Mask produces batteries only for their own needs. But the North, the Volt does not similarly restricted. The company plans to reduce the cost of batteries, so it probably expects that very soon they will have a lot of customers. Most importantly — to find four billion dollars for the construction of the plant.
