3D printer to print food will appear in every kitchen in the next few years

Using innovative 3D printing technologies has created parts for various mechanisms, bridges and even entire houses. But it seems that the technology has much more potential, and it can be used in the food industry. At least that's what people think, scientists from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, which created the first food 3D printer, capable of printing food.

According to the inventors Oded Shoseyov and IDO Braslavsky, the process of manufacture of such printers is not so complicated, and the emergence of a mass market may require no more than 5 years. Their food 3D printer as a raw material uses nanocellulose, proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Now the printer can print only the dough, but the researchers say that their printer is capable of more.

Nanocellulose scientists have studied for several years and came to the conclusion that the enzymes of the digestive tract to quietly digest this substance, and nanocellulose not cause any adverse reactions. In the future, experts will mix nanocellulose not only with nutrients, but also vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Under the influence of temperature from the laser printer nanocellulose binds the ingredients. The laser allows printed to give the dish a more "traditional" view.

According to the inventors themselves, their development is quite promising. In addition to use in cooking, it will help those who follow a strict diet for diabetics, vegetarians, professional athletes, Allergy sufferers, and so on. In General, all those who the presence of certain substances in food may harm the health.
