American airports starts testing the system which recognize faces

In the United States at the end of this month to begin the first tests of the system in several airports. Passengers airline JetBlue Airways, which became the initiator of the experiment, do not even have to get their passports and other documents to get on the plane. Because the new system is a quick look at people's faces to check them through the database security and on the flight. In order to bring this project to life, JetBlue Airways has teamed with Customs and Border patrol of the United States. For the software side of the project meets the company SITA.

The new system is based on the reconciliation of the human face stored in the database of photography. First experienced the new system of safety of passengers departing from Boston to the Caribbean. People will not have to submit any papers or to pre-register to participate in this program. During the recognition process, the person just need to stand in front of the camera, which instantly scans your face and verifies it with the database. In case of refusal from participation in the pilot program, the passenger is allowed to Board the plane the old-fashioned way.

Of Course, the developers of the system do not expect that everything will go absolutely smoothly. New software probably still full of flaws, and it will take some time to put it into operation on a permanent basis. Specifically for this work system will be controlled by the airport security personnel that will watch over that the software is not breaking anything, and to hear criticisms and comments from passengers.
