Company OceanGate will create a full 3D scan of the wreck of the

The Company OceanGate Seattle unveiled their plans for a submarine expedition to the place where the relics of the legendary transatlantic steamship "Titanic." Since 1912, it went down less than 200 people, and the last expedition was made in 2005. But OceanGate doesn't just want to admire the remains of the once giant ship, but also to create the most detailed 3D-scan of the ship to document it for history. This has not yet made one.

The Expedition is scheduled for spring 2018, and it will use innovative submersibles Cyclops 2 as well as advanced scanning technology. We can say that this is the most interesting project associated with since 1995, when the Director of the submarine descended to the ocean floor to personally examine the remains of the liner and use this data for future shooting his Oscar-winning blockbuster.

"Documenting history is very important in itself. On the other hand, we want to understand, for example, how the condition of the metal, which is a hundred years spent at great depths, and the impact of these conditions on other materials. We want to assess the impact of currents, bacteria, nature, and many other factors on the sunken ship", — said the founder of OceanGate Stockton rush.

To Make 3D images of high resolution under water is difficult, and there are a lot of reasons. The project will involve specialists of the laboratory AIVL (Advanced Imaging and Visualization Laboratory) at the Oceanographic Institute of the city of Falmouth, Massachusetts. The entire project should take about seven weeks, according to organizers. Submersibles Cyclops 2 will be equipped with laser scanners, sonar, and other tools for shooting in low visibility conditions. Inside of the device is placed team of five, including pilot, mission leader and three experts, among whom are marine biologists, archaeologists and other specialists.

Along with experts from the "Titanic" will be able to go and just want to touch the legend. The company OceanGate are openly selling tickets for a tour to the place where the relics of a sunken ship. This ticket will cost wishing to 105 $ 129. Only the first expedition was provided 54 seats for tourists. However all tickets from the first batch is already flying off the shelves, bringing the company more than $ 5 million. The money covers part of the costs of research of the liner.
