American seismologists have created ShakeAlert is a special warning system of earthquakes, which should inform the people on the West coast of the slightest tremors. For its operation it uses 400 seismographs installed throughout California. As soon as at least one sensor detects the first signs of the earthquake, the specialists instantly get a warning.
The System is able to calculate the magnitude of the approaching tremors, estimate time in advance, and the approximate radius of the earthquake, forming a kind of "security zone".
