Corporation "Irkut" has released the first flying prototype of MS-21
Source:Russia's New single-aisle MS-21 aircraft has left the Assembly hall and is ready for testing. The representative of the Corporation has confirmed to RIA «news» that the aircraft fully assembled, now, the experts prepare it for first flight. Date testing has not yet been approved, but the test will be held in the near future.
The Liner is designed for medium-haul transportation. It is expected that MS-21 will be able to compete with the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, but in the manual to be less expensive than other aircraft in its class. Experts «Irkut» claim that the use of the MS-21 airlines will be able to save up to three million dollars per year on each aircraft.
The capacity of the liner will be from 150 to 211 passengers. The aircraft is equipped with modern onboard systems, includes the latest developments in the field of aviation and equipped with engines of new type. The design of the aircraft of this class for the first time used composite wing. Over time, the MS-21 will replace obsolete Soviet aircraft.
The Corporation has received an order for 175 aircraft, currently negotiations are underway to supply more than one hundred cars. The first planes will be the airline «Aeroflot» — serial production of the aircraft will begin in late 2018.
