Scientists haven't found aliens from the mysterious star Tabi Source:

A team of astronomers from the University of California at Berkeley conducted a search of thesignature (traces of advanced technology) the star Tabi (aka KIC 8462852) which shows the unusual sharp change in brightness. According to one hypothesis, the reason for this can serve as some sort of extraterrestrial civilization that created the luminaries near the megastructure to collect stellar energy. To test this hypothesis, scientists tried to find in light signals star trace laser technology. Preprint of article describing their work was published in the online library arXiv and awaits publication in the journal Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.

Since the discovery of the star KIC 8462852 it's been three and a half years, but scientists still can't understand the cause aperiodic changes in its brightness down to 22 percent. Suspected there were clusters of comets, and the dense clouds of dust and large asteroids, planets, astrophysical processes in the star itself. Of course, not without ideas about aliens. Some scientists have suggested that the reason for this can be a giant astroengineering structure (e.g. Dyson sphere) that is building or already built by extraterrestrial civilization.

The Latest theory I decided to check astronomers from UC Berkeley and SETI, we are approaching the study of the stars not previously used method. In his article, scientists report that actually recorded some anomalous signals, but as it turned out, rejoice this is not necessary.

The Researchers analyzed 177 high-resolution spectra of stars Tabby, obtained with a telescope Automated Planet Finder in Litskai Observatory (USA) and covering the wavelength range from 374 to 970 nanometers. The object of the search were traces of laser radiation with a capacity of over 24 MW, which represents a lower limit of sensitivity given the distance to the star, which is located in 1470 light years from us. Developed for this algorithm analyzed each spectrum pixel by pixel to find the faint emission lines that might arise because of the lasers.

As a result, the research found 58 signal candidates, which could be interpreted as the activities of alien civilizations. Hurry with the findings and decided to conduct further analysis of the data, which allowed us to test whether these signals are a different explanation, including the contact detectors telescope cosmic rays, a private glow of the atmosphere or random fluctuations in the stellar spectrum. As it turned out, the signals have nothing to do with the laser radiation and, more likely, their source is a natural phenomenon.

The Researchers believe that despite the negative result, their work lays the Foundation for further search of alien thesignature, who also plans to have a telescope Automated Planet Finder, including project Breakthrough Listen, which is directed on search of extraterrestrial civilizations. To improve the efficiency of the search scholars suggest to analyze the spectra of various types of stars and in particular those that are similar to ours .

In General, while only one was a disappointment. To discuss the results of the study of California astronomers in our .
